Last Photograph of 2023
My year of looking for a gift every day is over so I am ending with one of my greatest gifts, this sweet little girl, Louisa May. She brings life, laughter and nearly daily surprise to a house that would be pretty empty without her. I, fortunately, grew up in a house that had furry (and sometimes feathery) family members. They were cherished. Their coming is a joy, their leaving is a heartbreak but I couldn't be without one to share this journey. What this coming year will bring we can't know but with a wee furry friend beside me on the couch, I can face just about anything. Despite everything that has happened this year, I will look back with gratitude and ahead with hope. I wish the same for you.
I love the extra photo which was from the wonderful site Mythica written my Kayleen Asbo. This is the end of a poem she wrote for today:
May I hold fast to kindness,
to compassion and the certainty
that we are all kin.
May I make of my life
a place where hope,
love and joy
can nest.
