The Nutcracker
A rather cold dismal foggy day …as I went to Waterloo on the train you could only see about the bottom quarter of the Shard the rest was shrouded in fog!
Had nice lunch with the family in Bills…which does lots of nice dishes plus a very good ( and cheap) children’s menu.
London was so so busy around Waterloo, the South Bank and Covent Garden.
We went to see the new production of the Nutcracker by the ENO. Interesting to see this new version quite different from ROH version…( it is available to see already on SkyArts) Some very interesting costumes and different interpretations of some dances. The first time in such a big theatre for the twins and also to see a ballet. They really enjoyed it as they knew the story of the Nutcracker from books. The orchestra was great and they liked looking at that too and were amazed at the dancers….we had cheap tickets in the front row of the top balcony…such good value for money as you could see really well…just a bit tight on leg room.
Also see extra of the cast at the end.
