Lots of holly….lunch for 9

This morning I made the effort to go to my usual Pilates class and then we got ready for all the family to arrive.

We had a lovely time while they were here….present opening , drinks and canapés and then lunch for 9. I hadn't fully realised until I put the crackers on the table that they had holly on the outside as does the tablecloth!  The table decorations I made at a workshop back in November. 

After  lunch the children played with a few of their new items including a game and then present opening part two for the grown ups. 

My grandson was very impressed with the Lego castle and all the other soldiers etc that I have made in the past couple of months. ( it was all my sons but has taken ages to sort out the parts and construct) It is going to stay at our house so that he can play with it here as he has lots of other Lego in his house. 

We had a lovely photobook from my daughter of her family …it was a lot of professional photos taken when they were ‘models’ at the Natural History Museum …one of their friends works there in publicity and some of the photos are to be used in some brochures/ material to attract new sponsors. They had access to lots of things behind the scenes including very old preserved specimens from Darwins’s time! 

Son and family left to go round the M25 to our daughter in laws parents in Sussex. The traffic looked bad so not sure what route they took.

All had left by 4.30pm so lots of tidying up done and now to relax…looking at books I’ve been given and TV too.
