Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

I was up at the toilet at 3am, so I sent a ‘Goodbye’ text to the Aussies, as their taxi was arriving then. I was very glad to be able to pop back to bed.

Archie and I went out for a walk. As we came to a bus stop, a bus was arriving. They have been rather few and far between these days, so we jumped on it.

We went to Stockbridge, and had a walk around the park, and a coffee in the one cafe that wasn’t absolutely mobbed. And when we came to a bus stop, there was another bus. Excellent.

My fridge light had arrived. A huge big box, masses of wrapping paper, and a box the size of a matchbox inside! It was an easy repair job, just requiring a Philips screwdriver. And yet they recommend that one of their ‘trained engineers’ should be summoned! Ridiculous.

A rather distant view of the Edinburgh skyline - Calton Hill, Arthur’s Seat, Castle..
