Today was the visitors last day. So… Susan, Archie and JR walked into town for a last browse, while I got the bus into town to meet them, and to take Archie off their hands. Though he had dragged them into a few of his favourite George Street shops, much to Susan’s amusement.
We had a coffee in town, then the two window shoppers went on further, while Archie and I got the bus home.
Later that afternoon we went down to visit Elizabeth for a special afternoon tea, with (homemade) Christmas cake and Christmas scones.
Back home, and after a wee rest, they all came round for a casual snack of cheeses, biccies, cooked figs, and yes - some more wine. And the tall young man climbed up the big ladder and replaced a couple of kitchen lights for us - one of which was above the fridge, so impossible for short folk to reach.
The poor things have to get a taxi at 3am, for an early flight back home. At least one of them has declared that they’re staying up…
It’s been wonderful having them back in their old stomping ground, and for J to see the city of his birth. He’s off to university when he gets back, so an exciting next episode, after his exciting European tour.
Here he is, bravely trying his Christmas present Irn Bru. He declared it to be ‘quite nice ‘not as bad as he thought…’
