To the lake
Still battling with a recalcitrant camera.
Weighing myself this morning, I found that I’ve put on a kilo in the last few days (scream emoji). So a walk was in order. While S cycled to the care home to see his mum, I went on the traditional walk to the lake, a 4.5 km round trip. It was another lovely, if chilly, day, and I walked as briskly as I could, so it took me an hour and a quarter including stops for blipping. I’ve deleted most of the photos again …
For lunch, we made some diet-friendly soup using the stock from the ham I cooked a few days ago, adding leftover carrots and onions, red lentils, and some of the ham, throwing in a couple of handfuls of baby spinach just before serving. No seasoning needed except salt and pepper — it was delicious.
In the afternoon, we did a swim and gym again. 30 lengths for me, with a hammam break after 20. My Fitbit says I should have a rest now.
We’ve had a few more leftovers for supper, and now we’re going to watch Powell and Pressburger’s Tales of Hoffmann, which we’ve never seen.
