Unexpected Christmas day

I got involved in the malfunctioning sewage pipe under the neighbours house today, Martin, the landlord, has a severe cold but crawls under the house anyway. We needed to be two in order to locate the block of the pipe. Not the kind of Christmas day occupation any of us wants but it has to be done. 

After three hours work we found the block but the only way we can get it out of the way is by pushing a water tube into the pipe to push the block through the pipe and flush with water at the same time.

I will save you the details. 

We think the block was fixed, time will tell, after another two hours of work, partly under the house in ridiculous working conditions, especially if you're ill.

I feel I've filled my quota of being kind for Christmas now and will sleep well tonight.
