Winter Solstice

The morning dawned grey and damp so there was no sunrise for us to see but as I walked this afternoon the sky cleared a little and the sun gave us a beautiful bright glow before disappearing on the horizon (see Extra). It’s breezy out and very mild.

Earlier we walked on the Goodwood estate and enjoyed brunch at The Kennels. Merlin was spoiled with lots of fuss and dog biscuits from the staff and some of the other visitors. This very sparkly tree was in the reception to greet us and the other diners, some of whom were arriving for a festive afternoon tea.
