Last lessons

Probably my first festive post, taken just before this morning's lessons. Three people as usual on a Saturday. My first student is 12 and she has a good level in English - but needs to practice. Have had lessons with her since she was 8. Second one is in her 40's and she has been with me since the beginning of the pandemic. When we started via webcam she could really speak in English. These days we can have a conversation, but she does make mistakes. I'm quite proud of her progress.
Then the end of the morning is with a 12 year old lad who is a beginner but is one of few youngsters I've had that works really hard.

Goes without saying I feel a bit shattered now, switching between different needs is exhausting really. But I like my job.

The Christmas break will be very welcome. 

Tomorrow we've got friends round for lunch - one of the friends is celebrating her birthday with us. So need to get the house straight before they come. But before that I need to send out the homework.

We'll do Christmas with just us 4 on Christmas Eve. We've been invited round to elder BIL's who I'm not really keen on at the moment, for dessert (after their own Christmas meal). Just so we can exchange presents. I've not been going to the family gatherings, as relations between me this brother in law are a bit frosty.
But he left a message on my phone asking me to come, so I've decided to go. I hope I won't regret it...
