Stevensons
Seems the last few days have been a bit eventful. Emma has been ill over the weekend with suspected norovirus. She vomited about 10 times from Saturday night into Sunday morning. Plus she had a panic crisis before and after, as she has mock exams coming up.
So it has been a difficult few days. I struggled with the her crying part, as it transported me back to when my Mum was in crisis. The only difference was that for her it lasted for years, almost every day. I suppose it has been akin to PTSD for me - although I am sure others have suffered more than I have to get that.
Happily she is a bit better, although she has been off school yesterday and today.
Meanwhile Rémy is over in Ireland and enjoying his visit. We've spoken to him on the phone and he has sent us a bunch of photos and video. The students have been put up by local families around Monaghan and it appears he has been speaking in English quite a bit with his family. They visited Londonderry and Belfast, as well as the Giant's Causeway. Where one of his friends nearly fell off a cliff.
He comes back on Wednesday night, but will visit Dublin before departing.
I've found a little bit of motivation to work on my current video, from when we visited Cognac & Royan in south west France. It has been dragging on a bit. I've had to add an ending once back home and as part of it I gave a shout out to a fellow Youtuber, who is also an English teacher and transport enthusiast. He is half Scottish half Italian, living in Italy. On his channel he did a review of an Oxford diecast London bus. This photo is also of an Oxford diecast bus, but one in the colours of Stevensons of Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.
So have added a short clip of it to my video.
Still have the captions and voice overs to do, perhaps it'll go out before Christmas? Meanwhile I've ended up addicted to watching Inspector Gently on Netflix. :-)
