Salt’s Mill Christmas
Today is the church Luncheon Club Christmas lunch so, after preparing his stuffing balls yesterday, Chris has been off to help with preparations and serving. For me, after a damp early walk, I have had the time to myself.
After taking the books to Oxfam in Ilkley yesterday I had a bag of other items to take to the Children’s Society shop at Saltaire. Unfortunately he was full of stock so couldn’t take my items but thankfully the Age Concern shop just a little further along did!
Job done I drove down to Saltaire village and indulged in a mince pie and coffee at Salt’s Diner, somehow he thought I’d asked for two mince pies! Extra. No matter I had one to bring home!
Wandered around the Design shop, Book shop and then the ground floor where I took my blip. Always lovely even if you don’t make any purchases.
Saw a couple of the village’s famous illuminated Advent windows when we sang at the United Reform Church on Tuesday night but didn’t see any sign of any today. Might have to make another visit before the season is over but that will be no hardship.
Sticking to the Christmassy theme I called in Lidl in Bingley on the way back where I bought another bottle of Mulled wine after finishing the first one with the family over the weekend, and treated myself to some Medjoul dates. These are just to be going on with as I have a large bitter of Gluhwein ready to take down to Bath.
