The Bend in the River…..

The river winds away heading upstream and southwest to the Taylor Dam and distant Wither Hills. It’s still quite green and lush in the river environs but with the current run of hot weather that won’t last. There have already been a number of scrub and grass fires further south in Canterbury with over 1000 hectares being wiped out near Castle Hill on the way to Arthur’s Pass. Here at home we have had another day of over 30C in the shade and no rain in sight. I’m just about to go and water the vegetable garden.
