“A Gardener’s Dream”

A Gardener’s Dream is a very appropriate name for this beautiful rose. Maisie and I side-tracked through Pollard Park and its Rose Garden early this morning. It is certainly worth a visit. I noted that irrigation systems have been on throughout all the gardens in the Waterlea Gardens section of the Park. The land is very dry and we are only a few days into summer. Luckily Blenheim’s water is supplied by the very deep and extensive Wairau aquifer. Fingers crossed the drawdown on that aquifer by the farming community , viticulture and towns will not unduly deplete the supply.
