Left hand, right hand

Home sweet (temporary) home

Thankfully last nights sporadic, and heavy, rain showers were a thing of the past, allowing us to dry our wet gear and enjoy the spectacular scenery around our campsite.

After a relaxing start to the day, we walked to the far side of the bay from our tent, examined another hillfort and took this picture looking back towards our tent (far side of the sandy beach, below the dark cut in the hillside). What a place.

A quick cooked lunch, and then a cycle around the island. We reckon around 16 miles cycled - which isn't bad for two very unfit people on hired bikes on a road that is anything but flat! We took in Kiloran Bay (a beautiful expanse of golden sand) and the local bookshop where LH just had to support the local economy....

Evening was a treat of fish and chips followed by rhubarb and ginger cake at the island's only pub.

Happy days.
