Local Woods

I am fortunate to live in a city by the sea where there are several areas of woodland within walking distance of home. These are largely a result of the topography which has limited development on the edges of some of the steep-sided valleys within the city boundary. Each area of woodland is different and has its own character and  distinctive flora. My blip photo today
 is less than 5 minutes walk from home and is unusual for the clumps of ferns growing beneath the trees. Walking through here today I was surprised again to see so many leaves still on some of the trees. It will probably look very different though in a weeks time having just watched the weather forecast.
