The End of Life
Another trip up to Sidmouth in East Devon where my mother in law is in hospital. She is 93 and over the past 3 weeks there have been at least 3 occasions when we thought that the curtain was finally closing. Seemingly, against all expectations she has bounced back, though much weaker than before. Today staff had helped her dress and she was sat up in a chair, though she is still off her legs. We were pleased to see her looking better and quite cheerful, despite her circumstances.
Later, in the afternoon this was the scene on the seafront. Calm and serene. Very different from 10 days ago when Storm Bert was at its peak. The world, and life, can look very different depending on when and how we look at it!
