Pallant House

HB came down for the weekend, I picked her up off the train and went first to P&P for her to get some jewellery mended.  A bit of food shopping and then home for an early lunch of kachapuri (Georgian toastie!) and then we all went off to see the Dora Carrington exhibition at Pallant House in Chichester.   It was quite slight as she didn’t paint that much but lived an unconventional and decorative life and took her own life young.  It was full of stories about her passion for the (gay) Lytton Strachey and their close friendship and the best thing was her astonishingly tender portrait of him that’s in the NPG.  Will be in Extras when I am somewhere with enough wifi.
