Between fen and mountains

Telethon

I felt a little sorry for the guitarist. Although it was sunny, it was still quite cold first thing and he continued playing for the Téléthon. I also bought some local patisserie on the Téléthon stall. I only learnt recently that this annual national fundraiser is in aid of research for very rare and underfunded medical conditions which otherwise would receive much less support.

The market was busy and I met quite a few people I know to exchange news and information. I bought a perfectly good kettle in the Téléthon shop for a couple of euros. I also went to the chemist to ask if they had any preventative treatment to take at the onset of a migraine. I was offered some very expensive herbal tablets containing chamomile but I have plenty chamomile infusions which don't seem to do anything for migraines. After lunch, I read my book in the veranda which, since it was rebuilt, is well insulated and quite warm when the sun is on it.
