River crossing
There was no service this morning as our service of Advent hymns and Christmas carols was in the afternoon. Instead, we walked down the river to cross the new river crossing. Previous bridges have been swept away by winter storms. These rocks will be going nowhere! We crossed but Mrs TT managed somehow to miss her footing and ended up standing in the water. The concert went very well and quite a few village people came along and enjoyed the mulled wine and stollen which was on offer afterwards, We also received a surprise gift of an felted image of a young Princess Elizabeth just before she became queen. It has been done very skilfully and you would not really know it was not a painting. I will no doubt blip it in the future. The donor was an elderly lady in the village who exhibits her late husband's work in her former shop. She felt that the picture should have a permanent home with our small English community.
