Gently down the stream

On the Edge

Today is K's partner's birthday.  Inevitably I landed up walking into town with the camera to get a couple of ingredients she'd forgotten for this evening's feast - and my blip.  I still didn't plunge into the Christmas Market - there were long queues of visitors waiting to get in, but I did go into the Outer Close.  Just on its edge I found this homeless guy.  I often see him, he has several pitches, but I've never seen him here before.  Presumably he was hoping for handouts from the mass of visitors.

The reason he has a cloth over his kness is that he constantly runs the coins he possesses through his fingers.  I'm not entirely sure why.  I don't expect he is either.  But today he's moved from his usual places to the edge of the Cathedral grounds.  Mostly he just stares vacantly, mostly he has a roll-up hanging from his lower lip.  I have tried to talk to him and bought him coffees and cinnamon buns in the past, but he never seems quite there.  It's not much of a place to finish up, is it..

Okay, that's me for today.  Hope your weekend's going well  xx
