Goldcrest

Another beautiful morning, but no frost when I was out.  There might have been earlier, but I didn't see it.

Instead I caught up with this beautiful little character (8.05 - 9.05 cms from beak tip to tail tip and don't you love his moustache?).  There are quite a few in the reserve, but like the long-tailed tits they are incredibly fast, darting around frenetically as they do.

The rest of the day's been fairly peaceful - some cleaning and the endless laundry, picking up a neighbour's dustbin that had fallen in the wind and scattered trash all the way up the path, looking after the little dogs when K and her partner went out for a birthday lunch.  Just ordinary stuff, you know..
