Tucker
Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and family in the USA - and to everyone else, Happy Thursday!
Friends Kura and Dwight came out, with Dwight's border collie, Tucker, to spend Thanksgiving with us. They brought turkey and dressing and gravy and I provided the other sides and dessert. And Kura provided a nice bottle of rose Prosecco. Not surprisingly, I had to grab some shots of Tucker, this being my favorite. He's a senior dog at 10 years old, but still full of fun. We have never had a dog visitor before so we were not sure how Jax would react. We met them in the driveway where the two dogs could meet on somewhat neutral ground, then into the backyard for necessities. Once in the house, Jax was fully amped up had his nose everywhere. Tucker was a bit more sedate, which helped Jax chill out. By the time we sat down to dinner, both dogs were comfortable enough with each other to lie under the table quietly. And after dinner, a big game of chase in the backyard which was great fun for both dogs.
It was a total success, all around. The humans had a wonderful time chatting and eating while the dogs had some fun playing.
This morning, we had a FT call with my parents which was a great way to start the day.
I feel like I have so much to be grateful for in my life. I don't know many people my age who are fortunate enough to have both parents still with them. And I also have a wonderful partner in life and amazing friends. I have never gone hungry our been without a home. Yes, I'm grateful for my life.
Cheers!
