Life's Little Moments

Chilling...

I spent most of the morning in the kitchen as I wanted to get the cheesecake made and the marinated green beans done.  And some cleaning in between, of course.  Then Hubs and I went into town to a new cheese shop and got a small selection of lovely cheeses to serve tomorrow while we wait for dinner to cook.  On the recommendation of a friend I met here on Blip many years ago, we picked up some St Agur Blue - we got to have a little tasted first and it was delicious!  Nice to have a cheese shop nearby, and I foresee more visits in the future!

I also took some time out to try the rental lens on Jax.  I must say that it is easy to handle, and so far I am quite pleased with it.  I think the bokeh probably isn't quite as creamy as that of the 70-200 f/2.8, but it is also half the cost, so not surprising.  I did a little lightening to this shot, but left the background alone.

While Hubs was mopping the kitchen floor, I took Jax for a walk.  As usual, it involved lots of sniffing and now the boy is fast asleep on the sofa.

Hubs and I watched "The Pursuit of Happyness" last night.  I had seen it years ago and remembered it as being a good movie, which it was.  But it made us both feel terribly anxious while we were watching it - I think it was that you could see every bad thing that was about to happen to the main character before it happened.  But it had a happy ending, which we both appreciated.  Still, I think we will pick something a little lighter to watch tonight.

Looking forward to spending tomorrow with friends (and dog) and eating more than we should!  Our doggie guest is a Border Collie and I suspect he will make an appearance here.  He's a senior gentleman so hopefully Jax will behave himself and not get too carried away.
