Englischer Garten
Well, today was a mixed bag. Let's start and end with the good bits.
So, I found a better place to run, a park called, I think, Englischer Garten, which was appropriate enough. The run to get there was quieter, too, and as I arrived at the park I saw this chap surfing where the water surged into the park from what I guess is a river that has been built over, much like the Fleet in London.
When I told the Minx about it later, she'd already heard of it and apparently there's a concrete construction under the water to make the waves.
My Extras give you a nice view of the park, which was very pleasant to run 'round, and also a piece of modern art from the sixties, which I passed on the way back to the hotel.
Two of the bad things in the mixed fortunes sandwich:
I had terrible problems with an eSIM, the details of which I will spare you, but I ended up buying a German SIM with some credit on. I thought, as I think one would, that I could just place that in the phone and get cracking.
Oh no.
The process took 28 minutes, including completing two or three webforms (all in German), downloading an app, and ending up on a video call to validate my identity.
And to top all that off, it occurred to me to check what time tomorrow night's Public Service Broadcasting gig started, which is the reason we are in Munich.
Guys... it was last night :-(
But to finish.... the Minx had found a bar near her WeWork that she fancied trying, so I met her there and we had a splendid evening of food and drink.
