Chimney pots in Keswick

I finally got away at 11am for the drive to The Lakes. It was a lovely, sunny day with a few short showers. I stopped at Rheged for lunch and was in good time for the Ullswater steamer at 1.40pm.

I would have been if I had driven to Glenriding, but I stopped in Pooley Bridge, thinking this was the stop. When the steamer did not arrive I asked my friend, Mark Littlejohn via WhatsApp. I suspect he may not let me forget this!

I drove to a Keswick, parked at the B&B and walked through town to the button and wool shop. It was closed although their website says they open until 4.

Never mind, I had an excellent cappuccino in a tiny café and then checked in at Sunnyside Guest House. They won a prize as best guest house/B&B in Cumbria in 2024. It is well deserved.
Margret’s condition had improved this morning and I had a brief chat with her this afternoon.

I was intrigued by the different chimney pots on a row on one house in Keswick.
