Buttermere
The night was very cold. After a delicious breakfast, I defrosted the car and set off for Buttermere. My satnav took me over the Newlands Pass. The journey was really scary because of all the black ice and the steep descent. I was very relieved to arrive in one piece!!
I pottered slowly around Buttermere. The light was extraordinary at times, but also quite fickle, disappearing as soon as it arrived.
I did take some classic shots, but I offer you some of my alternative favourites. At one point a duck paddled through some gorgeous reflections……I wasn’t happy.
I met three local photographers who were all happy to stop and chat. There had been a spectacular sunrise, shot by one. Another had bought a new mobile phone and was testing its abilities on a tripod.
Two men walked with me for a while. One had two new knees and was recovering from the second operation. We exchanged notes.
There were the predictable dog walkers and I saw a lot of smart doggie coats.
I walked nearly 5 miles so I was pleased with that.
