Colobus

As we lounged by the pool we were excited to see a small group of black and white colobus monkeys loping through the trees fringing the beach and the houses beyond.

They are deemed vulnerable in terms of conservation status, yet in this location were entirely unperturbed by humans. I observed them from very close quarters as they fed and rested. I quite liked it when they dropped pieces of leaf on me after they’d taken the prized parts. Their quiet nonchalance is something to strive for.
