Birthday Lady
I apologise for the unbelievably bad photo taken by me of some of the family singing Happy Birthday to the Matriarch on a birthday so gross in number that the 10 candles flickering on the cake are but nought in the scale of what should be there.
The Glasgow family arrived with baking and daughter #3 arrived with cake and candles. I sat on my matriarchal cushion and surveyed the bustling about from a distance. There’s no better feeling than that of being spoilt by my adult children. I was missing one son and two daughters who were otherwise engaged but they did phone their regrets at not being where it was all happening. They really missed out.
It’s been a perfect day. Now that everyone has departed and the clearing up has been done I’m about to start on the chocolates - I’ll leave the Prosecco for another night .
Here’s to next year, Inshallah!
