Soldier

Well, a rare day today - no gym, no visits to Chester, no rehearsals! So Mrs C and I decided to make the most of this unaccustomed free time - and the dry weather - to go for a leisurely walk into town. No real plan, we just enjoyed a stroll along the old canal (along with most of Kendal it would seem!) before heading into town for a trawl of charity shops - Mrs C was looking for some cheap items to use as photography props.
Because there was no need to be out of a car park by a certain time, we were able to enjoy a leisurely coffee at M&S as well. It was very pleasant just wandering around with no time constraints - a chance to really take in our surroundings. This display of military vehicles and several people in uniform selling poppies next to the war memorial caught my eye as a possible blip subject for today.
Mrs C managed to find a few items suitable for her purposes and we walked over 7km in total - a good result all round. And now we can spend the evening just relaxing and catching up on some of the many hours of programmes we have stacked up on the BBC iPlayer…
