November Rain
Went down into town this morning for the two minutes silence at the war memorial. The weather was unremittingly cold, grey and wet but that didn’t seem to deter the local populace - Market Place looked as busy as previous (drier) years.
We went for a welcome - and warming - cup of coffee afterwards whilst awaiting the return of the parade after their service in the Parish Church. Except, it rapidly became apparent that there was to be no return to Market Place. The parade had gone down to the church from the war memorial around 10.15 as usual but, due to a change of organiser this year, no return procession was scheduled.
Annoyingly, we had been walking up into town along the river, at the same time as the parade had been making its way down Highgate, so we could have seen it if we’d headed in the other way!
Panto rehearsal this afternoon. Due to one scene massively overrunning, I basically sat there for two hours, delivered four lines and then went home. Can’t help but feel they might have been able to manage without me…
