Bah Humbug!

Oh what a grey day! No sunshine for this benighted corner of the land, just a uniform blanket of thick cloud. However not all was lost as it was cheerful in Costa on Castle Street as I met up with daughter#1 before she goes off for the weekend to stay with her brother- son#1 in Elgin. She presented me with a box of Lily O’Brien chocolates. I have hidden them in plain sight but am going to be very disciplined in eating them …….famous last words!

Home to sew another bamboo towelling robe which turned into a battle with the sewing machine or rather with the reels of thread which kept giving out on me and then a broken needle.

The Christmas tree from Norway is up on the Mound and was being decorated with lights as I walked past it into town this morning. I hope they remember the star!

Apparently the Christmas Market is open next Friday until the 4th January - 7weeks of jingle bells and the smell of fried cooking. I do wish it wasn’t so overly commercialised and I haven’t yet mentioned Hogmanay, but that’s another story.
