High Pressure Rules

It was certainly worthwhile leaving the house in the darkness this morning and  be on the beach just after 7:30am  to see such a beautiful sky of pinks and greys . With not a breath of wind and with sun just beginning to reach the sand, it felt like a summer’s day; in fact better than some of the summer’s days we had earlier in the year. The sea was mirror calm and the very day to swim from groyne 5 to groyne 6 ……..except I declined. I expect I will kick myself for not attempting to do it  when the conditions were so perfect.

The perfection of the day continued as both buses home came without much waiting and I was home by 9:15am and had time and a Metro newspaper to spend half an hour in Söderberg doing the crossword and the Sudoko. A morning of pleasurable physical and mental exercise.

My navy wool has arrived for daughter#5’s cardigan. Certainly not a colour I’m happy knitting, but I aim to please. Despite having a selection of knitting needles handed down from the late distaff side of my  family, I did not have the required #9, 3.75mm in new terminology. Most of my needles are in the much more memorable old nomenclature and since I’ve knitted this cardigan numerous times before, I have a feeling I must have lent the elusive #9 needles to someone who has not returned them. Luck was yet again on my side today as I scurried over to Marchmont and managed  to buy a new pair- sorted!
