The National Bird
While my son Jeff was off doing his training, I took off for a wildlife sanctuary, and a small zoo.
But, first...since I'm in Green Bay, Wisconsin, I wanted to stick my nose into the football stadium.
Lambeau Field is considered sacred in the National Football League. It is the only team owned by shareholders. How was I supposed to know that today was the shareholders meeting?
People dressed in green and gold were everywhere. I finally asked a couple how many people were going to show up. They replied "It's supposed to be down this year...but they're still expecting about 17,000 of us." YIKES!!!!! A parking attendant finally kicked me out...not even letting me into the gift shop. The first five hours in the gift shop were only for the shareholders.
The wildlife sanctuary was very nice...treating mostly sick and rehabilitating birds and animals. Plus...the price was right...FREE.
At the small zoo, I was just about to ask for my six dollars back, when I spotted this eagle. I don't even want to tell you how many pictures I took of him. Looking at me, looking up, looking down, eyes half closed, the eagle jumping playing hopscotch, the eagle playing Scrabble. (That's only a slight exaggeration.)
What a lovely bird. Everybody wanted my shooting spot, and I had to keep pushing toddlers, and old ladies out of the way.
I didn't ask for my money back. Out to supper with Jeff, who is typing this so we can leave sooner. Going out for pasties (a meat pie), because they close real soon.
