Roll With It

Back In The Day

This figurehead stood next to the mast adjacent to the ‘parade ground’ at TS Indefatigable at the place with the long name in Anglesey, N Wales. Fully restored it is now an exhibit in the Boy Seamen Training section of the Merchant Navy Museum in Liverpool.
The Indefatigable was my home for eighteen months, I joined the Royal Navy from Wrexham RN Careers Office.

I have not been to Liverpool since I left the Navy, it was renowned for being a ‘good run ashore’. I recall being there in the early ‘70’s in a night club called ‘Clubship Landfall’, it later sank, was refloated and restored and in 2020 was placed on Southsea Common as a memorial, Landing Craft Tank LCT 7074, is now a thing of beauty for people to visit.

Back to today, I successfully completed a two hour stint on the Poppy Stall at Sainsbury’s before home, dinner and an early night.
Mrs S are off on an adventure tomorrow.
