Halloween or All Hallows' Eve was originally the evening of preparation for the Christian celebration of All Saints' Day, ‘Trick or Treating’ crossed from the states.
Paddy seemed quite unconcerned with the lanterns, startled a couple of times by trick or treaters suddenly appearing in front of him strangely dressed and oddly illuminated.
