Abstract Thursday

Autumn leaves feeling 'Moody' having fallen from the tree and being trampled underfoot on the pavements and elsewhere. Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting our theme for today.

It has been a pretty moody day too, overcast and windy but it didn't affect my mood much as I met 3 old buddies from the coalface for lunch and lots of natter.

Last night's dinner with friends C & K was great.  Super to see our friends again and hear all about their adventures whilst sailing on a yacht with their friends.  They sailed out of Poole Harbour in good weather but ran into bad weather around Alderney and finally had to moor up in Guernsey where the weather really took a turn for the worse with very high winds and waves, so were stuck in harbour there for over a week where some of the other moored boats got damaged. At the height of the gales a part of our friends' boat's radar broke off and hit K's friend giving her a nasty leg wound, then hit K, who luckily got away with only some bruising to her leg. The Harbour Master was called and arranged for J to be taken to hospital where she was cleaned up and had stitches.  The sail back to Poole was uneventful, everyone is back home now and K told us that J is recovering nicely but will have a scar to remind her of their very exciting sail.
