Let the Mulching Begin

Hubby had an 8:00 haircut appointment. I made breakfast and was enjoying it on the front porch when he returned. He put on gardening clothes and started mulching the front garden. He put down 9 large bags and needs a few more to complete the job. I pruned two boxwoods and two burning bush shrubs. Hubby got out his electric hedge clippers and pruned the last hedge bush. I severely cut back two of my five butterfly bushes. I discovered that the azalea with the prettiest blooms had all but died. Hubby helped me trim off the dead branches. We weeded some of the gazebo garden but have more to do. Tomorrow hubby plans to power wash our concrete areas. I will prune more shrubs and get other gardens ready for mulching. The weather has been so perfect that we’ve decided to do as much as possible even though we are exhausted when we stop for the evening. But we both know that no matter how much we get completed before winter weather arrives, there will still be more to do. We showered and I took hubby to pick up his SUV. Toyota has decided our air bag problem is due to a seat belt extender I used. My seat belt connector is tucked down beside the seat and I have trouble connecting the belt with my arthritic fingers. The extender brings the connector above the seat so it is easier to attach. If this IS the problem, why did we have to pay over $1,700 for a spring assembly that supposedly fixed the problem? I am losing faith in the integrity of some businesses/their specialists. I picked up buns for our sloppy Joes on the way home. Sometimes hubby wants an easy and fun meal. Sloppy joes and slaw fit that bill. Wishing you a fun, child like meal to lighten up your evening. Stay safe.
