Whiskers Galore
Today we visited Manor Wildlife Park, a small zoo about 20 minutes away from where we are staying. The animals are kept in very large enclosures and visitors can stroll through some of them and get close to the lemurs, wallabies, sheep and goats.
The zoo is owned by TV personality Anna Ryder Richardson (of Changing Rooms fame) and she happened to be in the Red Panda enclosure recording an interview with the keeper when Barney here made an appearance. The keeper was explaining that he’s only recently arrived as a mate for their female but at the moment she’s giving him the cold shoulder. Who could resist such a cute face for long?
In extras is the male Sumatran tiger, who’s currently being kept apart from his mate and their young female cub.
We spent a good 4 hours there as there were lots of animals to see on a beautiful Autumn day.
It’s also Joel’s birthday so we’ve had a very tasty meal at a local pub this evening to celebrate.
