Motorbike

Bear is obsessed with motorbikes. In the wrap when one goes past he almost climbs out in his determination to see the thing. Knocks me off balance as he swings around to see. "brrrrrr! brrrrrr!!"

Church this morning, Bear and I were in creche, he played - and cried when I had the audacity to sneak back into the main meeting without him, so I did some work on his crochet blanket, making the final little pieces that will fill in the final gap. He disappeared after the meeting. I took my eyes off him for a minute and then there were no kids playing where they were playing before and of course no Bear to be seen. He'd not gone past me, I was fairly certain, but while I sent others into the building to look for him I scouted the carpark quickly. Not been so worried in a long long time. I was glad of the scarf I'd tied around my waist then. Straight up onto my back he went, with a quick and dirty wrap job with my favourite Egyptian scarf - not going to risk losing him again! We ended up walking home in the heat after that, Bean and Steve followed later after they'd done all their chatting and playing.

Two playdates for the afternoon. A 1st birthday party, and a swimming pool playdate - and of course Bear decided to have an utterly mammoth nap. Bean and Steve went off to play in the paddling pool, taking swimming things and sausages for the barbecue, and I waited for Bear to wake up so we could go and find this birthday party. Eventually after a million years he woke up and off we set. And of course I couldn't find the place and Bear grumped from getting out and in and out and in to the car but we made it eventually and Bear was very happy to find water and motorbikes to play with :) He ate icing off the cake and fed me the cake, we shared carrot sticks and juice, and eventually it was time to leave and go to find Bean and daddy. Thankyou for a lovely play, Olive! Happy birthday :)

Bean meanwhile had been swimming in the giant paddling pool at Ede's house, refusing to admit being cold despite his teeth chattering and lips turning blue! Steve had to order him out for a run around in the sun and a bounce on the trampoline to warm up before he would go diving back into the pool again. Lovely catching up with friends in the sun!
