Watching trains
"Come and see the boys, they're watching trains"
Er - watching trains from the shed roof might have been a useful thing to add!!
Been a pretty gorgeous day. A leisurely wake-up, Bear wandering around happily, not too hot. Swimming for Bean. Bear brought Steve his shoes and sat down to ask Steve to put them on him, and when Steve and Bean started saying goodbye and he was handed to me he started screaming!! So Bear went with Steve and Bean, and watched the whole lesson!
I couldn't believe my luck, an opportunity for a free walk into town - actually on my own! Felt really weird when Bear went off with the boys though. Not used to that.
Lovely walk around, picked up a bunch of pairs of shorts for Bear from various charity shops plus a pair of very funky Kermit shoes which Bear is very pleased with!
After Bear's nap Steve and Bean headed out by themselves again, this time to the park. And Bear got left behind with me this time. And he screamed and screamed because he was SO expecting to go with them. He'd got his new shoes on and everything. I had to eat something so I promised him we'd go when I'd eaten. He dragged me to the front door. "Dadaaaaaaa" he wailed....
Then.
He dug out the paint trays that were still by the front door and posted them into my shopping trolley and behind his carseat. I'm grateful they were clean!
Then.
As I was halfway through eating he came running in to the kitchen, completely wordlessly, and held his hands out to me.
COVERED IN PAINT.
What the...?!!!
It's not often I'm completely speechless.
At least he didn't dig any more paint out after that, and I'm grateful he came straight to me instead of painting the walls or radiator or the floor or any of the other stuff on the way from the hall to the kitchen....
And he was very grateful when I got the wrap out and giggled happily as he jumped up onto my back for a carry to the park.
Happy times at the park running around and climbing and watching Bean and Steve play with their new flying toy thing, and more happy times in the garden when we got home, can't believe we were still happy to sit in the garden even as windy as it was and with the sky overcast.
