It's not cricket, 200 not out
At least I don't think it's cricket, I think it is a common field grasshopper. There is a wonderful grassy meadow at the back of my house and today it was alive with butterflies and day flying moths. There were also a lot of noisy grasshoppers. I think I can see now the difference between them and crickets which have longer antennae. I have downloaded a guide which tells you how to identify them further by wing length and even the sound they make. I am a complete beginner with identifying insects but blipping , the macro lens and some of the astonishing photos I see on blip have all inspired me to find out more.
I was staggered at how quickly the 200 has come around. Before I know it it will be 365.
