Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Today we popped down the road for morning tea with a friend. A Waitrose lemon drizzle cake and lots of fresh fruit and cream was enjoyed. And although we've visited her flat several times before, and know perfectly well where she lives, we were standing at the wrong main door, ringing the wrong bell. Fortunately, our friend happened to look out of her window and see us, otherwise we'd still be there, trying all the doorbells in puzzlement. Extremely strange behaviour, as we knew the smart garden next door is one of JR's gym friends. But we were not at the smart garden. It's a worry...

Back home and I had time to finish logging on to our cruise, before we were off again to meet C, this time in the cafe in the old hospital precinct. It's a cafe Nero that we frequent a lot, as there is no loud music, and Archie quite likes it. We caught up with C's news, and she and I compared aches and pains - she's got long term shoulder pains and has had two successful carpal tunnel operations.

JR went into town with C while Archie and I came home. I was pretty stuffed, it being over 8,000 steps. But I was home in time to watch the afternoon housey programmes. No, actually - to snooze in front of the housey programmes…
