Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Another lovely day, but a big storm due over the whole country tomorrow. Once Archie had gone off with Elizabeth, we headed into town JR wanted to show me a few things in her second favourite shop - Uniqlo. It’s much easier going in with someone who knows where everything is. We went to their wee cafe, which has a fabulous view, and I had a delicious mango juice. Didn’t buy anything.

From there we popped in to another place with a view that we’ve always been meaning to go, but Saturday lunchtime is not the best time to expect to get a table.

Onwards to the St James Quarter, which was buzzing. There are so many new restaurants - some of them JR hadn’t even noticed before. All of them were busy, many with queues at the door. We booked for a Vietnamese restaurant for next Saturday. - thought we should get some practice in.

We found a table at a Greek restaurant, and it was great. Small plates were served on a sort of afternoon tea three tiered cake stand. Brilliant.

I came home, and the bus arrived 1 minute after I got to the stop! Brilliant. Finished watching the final episode of Ludwig. Obviously setting it up for a second series… Not sure if it’ll be on my ‘Must Watch’ list.

Elizabeth came in for a wee glass of wine - she even brought it.They’d had a super day up the hill.
