A view from Jeanneb

Last rose?

Despite the forecast for more fog we woke to another glorious clear sky.

Determined I’d  make the most of it today with no other plans by getting out in the garden. Filled a bag and a half with garden waste cutting back mainly Peonies, Japanese anemones, Geraniums  and  dead agapanthus blooms as well as some general weeding.

Chris has planted two packs of Scilla bulbs, one white and one blue in the area where we cut back the Laurel and planted daffodils last year. Hopefully they will make a good spring display.

This rose is the last one in bloom, there is another bud behind it. It’s Shropshire Lad, one of my favourites.

Lots more to do but I didn’t want to make the bags too heavy to remove. The leaves will be coming down soon though the Magnolias are only just turning. I don’t mind the oak leaves on the top lawn but the downside of the Magnolias is their almost back and slippery leaves when they come down. They just have to be cleared!

We are out this evening singing in a charity concert at St Luke’s Church East Morton. Looking forward to that, though two 45 minute performances is hard in the feet and legs!

Happy Friday
