Hot

We almost bit off more than we could chew today.
Mahé is mountainous and the lushly vegetated green peaks rise up into the skies through the mist . They are quite spectacular.
We have hired a little car for a couple of days so we can see a bit more of the island. We went to the capital, Victoria first and had a look around. We liked the big market there.
The highest peak,  Morne Seychellois is 905 metres which  is nearly as high as Helvellyn.
We decided we’d like to do a bit of a hike, nothing high but a reasonable walk.
There’s a trek to a beach called Anse Major. Supposedly pretty easy and not much “up”, can be done by 8 year olds.
Hmmm. It was incredibly hot and humid and the 2 kilometre track seemed endless. Not far really but tiring conditions.
LooseCanon turned back not all that far from the end. I carried on. Bit of a wasted effort as the tide was high when I got there and you couldn’t sit on the beach anyway. I took a couple of photos and went back. We’ve both drunk pints and pints of water this afternoon!
The main pano is taken from along the track. The extra is the beach, Anse Major.
