Oystercatcher #73
Well I wasn't expecting wall to wall sunshine today, but that's what we got - aren't we lucky?
After a stop at Stag Rocks to look for purple sandpipers (success), we headed to Craster for lunch at the Jolly Fisherman. It was third time lucky for a crab sandwich for me, after lucking out at Bamburgh and Lindisfarne - delicious.
We did a walk along part of the coastal path watching the waves again and then went to Low Newton on the way back home. Low Newton is a great place, with a pool behind the pub that hosts many ducks geese and waders, and a fabulous beach. The sun was going down and the light was delightful, highlighting the birds on the waters edge beautifully.
One of our favourite beaches as it's sandy, has birds and is relatively quiet, Low Newton is the place to go this time of year. (see extras).
