Grey Plover #72

Today was all about waves and waders. We were in Amble as the tide came in and the strong winds meant that the waves were crashing over the pier catching many visitors unaware, including me! But my wet feet soon dried :) 
It was brilliant watching the waves crash around the pier and lighthouse - we sat there for ages. 

After a quick snack and drink, we went to Boulmer for a walk on the beach. This has become one of my favourite places for waders, especially the stunning grey plover which is always a treat to see, along with sanderlings which I always seem to blip. 

The forecasted nice sunset did not materialise which is a shame but we've had another great day here in Northumberland.
