Cabot Trail
A bit of a mixup over what was planned for breakfast this morning but things worked out. Instead of going for breakfast at the cottage with some of the group, we ended up going to a cafe and bakery with 3 of the others. They make their own bagels, scones and a variety of other baked good. I had a bagel. I considered getting one of their cinnamon buns but when I went back in to get one they were gone. Karen had a scone and all they had left of them was a package of 4 so I bought it.
After breakfast we left to go around the Cabot Trail. According to Google Maps it is a 4 hour drive (without stopping). We left at 10 and got back here at 5 pm, so obviously I made lots of stops. I have been around the Cabot Trail in the past, the last time being 15 years ago. It is the first time I have driven it myself, the other times someone else was driving.
The main photo was taken here in Baddeck. The first extra was taken in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The second extra was taken after leaving the park.
We had supper with several from the group, a potluck supper. A couple who did not go to the supper are across the hall from Karen and I. They invited us over to their room for a glass of wine.
A good day. If I wasn't so tired I would go across the street to a ceilidh. We plan to leave after breakfast tomorrow and it will be another long day of driving.
