Cape Breton trip Day 1

We left Dartmouth around 9 am and arrived in Baddeck at the motel around 4 pm. Some sun, some clouds, overall a nice day. A few stops along the way for photos but for the most part I waited till we crossed the causeway to get some photos.
We stopped at the Visitor Information Center for a picnic lunch. We could see the Canso Causeway. For those that have never been here, it has a bridge that opens when a boat needs to pass thru. I noticed traffic backing up and looked around to see why. The bridge was opening. The first time I have gotten to see it.
We saw some others in our group and they said they were going to Iona Highland Village. Karen and I decided to stop there too, but we didn't see anyone else we knew while there.
The main photo was taken at the side of the road on the way to Iona. The extra with the barn in it was also taken at the side of the road. The view with the stone wall is at the Iona Highland Village.
We had planned to have a potluck supper at a cottage that is part of the motel where we are staying, but the ones staying in the cottage decided to stop and eat supper before arriving. The motel does have a restaurant so some of us went there for supper. They have entertainment too, a guy was playing the guitar and singing.
Tomorrow Karen and I will drive the Cabot Trail.
