It’s all over, bar the shouting as they say. The overweight case, has been emptied and stored away until next year and its small cousin packed for 4 days away in Cullen to celebrate, daughter#1’s big, big birthday starting tomorrow. It’s all go,
Since I’ve been away, my Boston Ivy has changed to its autumn colours, the avocado plants (Princess And Pea and Pickles )have put on height and need judicious pruning, my favourite Costa coffee shop with the wonderful views at the corner of Hanover Street has permanently closed, the scaffolding to sort the drainage on the balconies is months behind schedule and has still not reached me and the crowds of visitors roaming my ‘hood’ seem to be worse than ever. This is partly because the University has an open doors day today but also because term has started for the students. However, on the positive side we have had no rain today and it was positively mild.
It was strange waking up in my bedroom during the night and finding nothing in the right place. No window with the sea outside and lights of the Pole Star Pier shining in and the bathroom door not seemingly where it should be. All quite disturbing in the short term, but it will improve.
